Pixar & Steve Jobs

Early last April, Pixar Animation Studios announced its plans to release a sequel to the film Finding Nemo in 2015. The sequel, titled Finding Dory, will focus on the character of the blue tang fish named Dory fish.

In Finding Nemo, Dory appears as a supporting character. However, the fish are cute, and forgetful ceriwis it turned out like a lot of people that end up getting rations as a main character in the next Pixar film.

As one giant, Pixar animation studio is an expert in creating characters that are "live", which was able to attract the sympathy of the audience. Still remember Toy Story? Toy Story was the first 3D animated feature film appearances, Pixar. Films released in 1995 that successfully captured the hearts of the fans of the animated film, thanks to a compelling storyline and added strength.

Marionette Woody the cowboy, Buzz Lighyear si ranger, the tiranosaurus Rex and Mr. Potato Head representing the childhood memories of many people — not just Andy, little boy toys-toys in the film.

In addition to showing the strong characters in the film, Pixar also always bring quality stories that contain moral messages, as well as being able to provoke the emotions of the audience.

In Toy Story, for example, viewers were treated to scenes of emotional and evocative feeling. For example, the feud between Woody and Buzz before they finally become friends, the proximity of the antarkarakter, as well as a feeling of pity Andy against mainan-mainannya.

Although recently showing the fangs in 1995, or after Toy Story was released, Pixar actually business trips have started since 1986. Steve Jobs is a genius who developed the successful animation studio.

The Pixar Touch: The Making of A Company, which was written by David a. Price, deals with the history of the birth and development of the Pixar business. This book lays out interesting facts about Pixar, which is not generally known. One of them, the fact that precisely Pixarlah — not Apple — that makes Steve Jobs become filthy rich.

Pixar's history began in the 1960s, at the University of Utah, USA. There are several student achievers who studied computer science at the University. In addition to John Warnock (co-founder of Adobe Systems Inc.) and Jim Clark (Netscape co-founder), Edwin Catmull (co-founder of Pixar).

College, Catmull was hired by the New York Institute of Technology (OPEN) to lead graphic-computer lab on campus. There, he became acquainted with Alvy Ray Smith, now known as one of the pioneers in the field of computer graphics. Both of these would later be known as the founder of Pixar.

At that time, George Lucas has been working as a filmmaker in the company he founded, Lucasfilm. In the 1970s, Lucas hired some staff from OPEN to join the team of computer-graphics Division at Lucasfilm, including Catmull and Smith. At Lucasfilm, they are given the responsibility to take care of the matter of algorithm animation programming.

The story continues. In 1983, John Lasseter was fired from his job as an animator at Walt Disney Co. Catmull who know it, invited Lasseter to join his team at Lucasfilm. This makes Lasseter became the first person to apply the principles of classic Disney-style animation into computer animation.

In the 1980s, the animation business is still very difficult. Therefore, in 1986, George Lucas decided to streamline its business and sell computer-graphics Division to most potential buyers, that Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple founder computer company NeXT. Jobs bought the Lucas owned business worth 5 million u.s. dollars, and then changed its name to Pixar.

Initially, Pixar was still the computer animation company. Before becoming a major animation studio as we know it today, Pixar has to go through the full years of struggle and suffered losses up to millions of dollars.

The company debuted as animation companies when they make a short animated film called Luxo Jr. and Tin Toy. Both of these short films were originally released only to assist in the promotion and sale of the Pixar computer products.

Tin Toy turned out to reap success and favored by many people. The Film won the Academy Award for animated short film in 1988. From this film, the Pixar team learned that the most important aspect in making animated films is an interesting story — not the graphic techniques.

The success of Tin Toy makes Disney Pixar to work at the same time. Finally, in 1991, the two companies made an agreement of cooperation. The Pixar animated film will produce three and Disney will distribute and market the film.

The first Animated Film produced through cooperation it is Toy Story, released in 1995. The Film was a success and earning up to hundreds of millions of u.s. dollars from around the world. A week after Toy Story was released, Pixar made an initial public offering (IPO) shares owned by Steve Jobs was worth 1.1 billion US dollars.

After Toy Story, 3D animated films made by Pixar again achieve success on the big screen. Call it A Bugs's Life (1998), Toy Story 2 (1999), Monsters, Inc. (2001), Finding Nemo (2003), The Incredibles (2004), Cars (2006), Ratatouille (2007), WALL-E (2008), Up (2009), Toy Story 3 (2010), Cars 2 (2011), and the Brave (2012).

In 2006, Disney bought Pixar in a 7.4-billion-u.s. dollar value. This acquisition put Steve Jobs — which remains a majority shareholder in Pixar — into the Disney Board of Directors. While Lasseter becomes Chief Creative Officer for Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios and Catmull-President positions in both the animation studio.

Now, Pixar isn't the only animation studio. Innovations made by this company we can enjoy in many feature films. For example, as mentioned in The book The Pixar Touch, is the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man's Chest, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A variety of special effects in the movies were created using software made by Pixar.
